Description:     SIRT1 stands for sirtuin (silent mating type information regulation 2 homolog) 1 (S. cerevisiae), referring to the fact that its sirtuin homolog (biological equivalent across species) in yeast (S. cerevisiae) is Sir2. SIRT1 is an enzyme that deacetylates proteins that contribute to cellular regulation (reaction to stressors, longevity). SIRT1 is an approximately 82 KDa protein which migrates as a~110 KDa band in SDS-PAGE.
Purification: Purified by affinity chromatography using Antigen affinity matrix.
Specificity: This antibody detects SIRT1 protein in eukaryotic cell extract and recombinant proteins expressed in prokaryotic cells.

Storage buffer: Tris Buffer pH 7.4, containing 50% Glycerol without azide.
Storage instructions: Store at -20°C (Recommended).

*N. B. (Membrane blocking): One hr at RT in 5% (w/v) non-fat milk; (Primary Ab): Overnight at 4°C in 1% non-fat milk; (Secondary Ab): One hr at RT in 1% non-fat milk. All incubations and washings are in 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween-20.
