Introduction: These magnetic beads are composed of iron encapsulated by agarose. Protein A coupled to agarose has high affinity regions that are specifically bonded to the Fc region of the immunoglobulins (especially IgGs of different species). Protein A agarose beads have been widely used to purify immunoglobulins of different mammalian species. It is also suitable for immunoprecipitation (IP) procedures.
